The Iowa Lottery concluded fiscal year 2026 with total sales of $469.6m, marking the third-highest annual revenue in the organization's 41-year history. The financial period ended on June 30 and reflects an 8% year-over-year increase.

Revenue Distribution and Game Performance

State program proceeds reached $95.1m, representing a 10% rise compared to the previous fiscal year. Players claimed $305.6m in prize payouts during the same period, while retail partners earned $30.5m in commissions, a nearly 8% growth. Scratch tickets maintained their position as the primary revenue driver, accounting for $291.4m in sales. This segment represents over 62% of the total revenue and aligns closely with the previous year's figures. Powerball experienced the most significant growth, generating $66.5m in sales, a 77% increase. The rise coincided with September and December, months that featured the second- and third-largest jackpots in Powerball history.
